What’s in my Show Bag?
Hey guys! I’ve scoured the internet to compile the best list possible of what to have handy in your show bag, and have combined a bunch of ideas into one post! All of these items can be found at The Tack Shoppe and your local pharmacy! Everything on this list fits into my Grand Prix Rider Backpack, which was well worth the splurge!
-Reusable water bottle Its super important to stay hydrated- plus if you bring your own water, you’ll be saving your wallet from buying one every show!
-Crop and spurs You never know when you’ll be needing them! TSOC has these “Spursuader” spurs that I’ve heard work great for sensitive horses!
-Granola Bars I always keep these on hand, they stop you from snacking on junk food, plus if you ever run out of time to grab some lunch, you won’t be starving by the time you get on!
-Extra Hairnets I loose hairnets left and right so I always make sure I keep an extra one in my bag! The RWR Easy- On Hairnets from the Tack Shoppe work wonders for my thick hair and last forever!
-Phone Charger, because you know your round will be perfect when your phone is dead and no one catches a video.
-Extra Socks, another thing I loose like crazy! Whenever I order from TSOC I put the Surprise Socks into my cart, its always fun to see what you end up with!
-Gloves My personal favorite is the SSG Digital Gloves!
-Ecolicious I not only show, but I groom for my barn as well. You can never go wrong with Ecolicious!! I keep the “Hey Sugar” Chap Stick in my bag, as well as the “Leave Me Be” fly spray and the “Hoof Therapy” hoof polish in the side pockets of my bag. This stuff works wonders, plus it’s all natural with no harsh chemicals!
-Hat and Sunscreen I pretty much fry in the sun and the TSOC Baseball Cap is a life saver!
-Earrings I always forget to pack earrings for shows so now I keep a pair in my bag! I love the earrings from Dash Equine, they’re just enough sparkle to catch your eye, available in a rainbow of colors, but subtle enough to show in! Dash donates 20% of their profit to the World Wildlife Fund, so you really can’t go wrong!
-Hair ties, when you have hair as thick as mine they’re constantly snapping! Always good to keep a couple on hand.
-Hairbrush a life saver when your hair just really doesn’t want to fit in your helmet
-Extra Shirt we all know how dirty you can get from a day at the barn. I always pack an extra shirt, like the Tailored Sportsman Icefil Shirt, in my bag to change into after I show or even if my class is delayed, to minimize the chance of a dirty show shirt!
And of course a helmet! This bag has a super handy pocket to keep your helmet in reach. No excuse to not #mindyourmelon! I personally have a Charles Owen, but I have my eye on theBlack Samshield Shadowmatt that the Tack Shoppe just got in!
Now youre all set for a successful show day! Happy showing and happy shopping!
